The design concept for the Designpreis Brandenburg 2015 is based on a geometric abstraction of the state of Brandenburg, where the administrative districts and regions are transformed into a modular system of simplified shapes. This visual evolution aims to provide a “framework” for excellence, balancing a contemporary, professional aesthetic with a serious tone befitting a prestigious state award. The core of the identity is a clear, vibrant mint-green palette that ensures high visibility and modern appeal, while the strictly organized typography provides a stable foundation. By deriving the graphic forms directly from the regional map, the design creates an authentic local connection that remains recognizable even in its most abstract form. This systematic approach allows for a flexible yet consistent application across various media, positioning the award as a high-quality distinction that celebrates the creative and structural diversity of the region.
